Lodge Pambula Daylight was consecrated in November 1988 as described in full on this page. In its short life of 27 years it has never had the opportunity to Initiate two Candidates at the same meeting, until now. In fact, it is 11 years since the Lodge's last Initiation ceremony. In February, thanks to this web site, Larry Farrell made contact with the Webmaster saying that he and his good friend Munro, wanted to become Freemasons. He said they both lived in Sydney but they were here in the area on a temporary basis until the end of the year. As they were virtually unknown in the area the District Grand Inspector of Workings was contacted to put the Grand Lodge membership assistance scheme into operation and after several interviews and contacts with Grand Lodge approval was given for them to be initiated into Freemasonry.

Because of the unique and historic nature of the ceremony, it was decided to ask the Grand Master if he or his representative could attend the meeting together with a delegation of Grand Officers. Approval was quickly forthcoming with the appointment of Rt W Bro Allan Brown, PAGM, from Lodge Coeur de Lion which meets at Moruya. He was accompanied by VW Bro Kit Lee who was apponted as Grand Director of Ceremonies for the meeting as well as the DGIW Vw Bro Neil Dawson and nine other Grand Officers. Also attending were ther Masters of Lodge Coeur de Lion, W Bro Bob O'Callaghan, Lodge Bega Remembrance, W Bro Ray Spencer, the WM of Bairnsdal Daylight Lodge, W Bro John Goodall, brethren from the Mountain Lodge, Bombala, Lodge Cooma Monaro, Bega Remembrance and Bairnsdale Daylight.

The two Candidates proved to be exemplary in their conduct and demonstrated their keeness to persue their studies of the Craft. Brethren of the Lodge will be sad to see them return to Sydney later in the year.
